Production is set to begin late in 2008. Pricing is projected to increase from the previous model, the 997; the base Carrera model is set to start at US$ 75,600 for North American buyers. The line will debut with coupe and cabriolet models for the 998 Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera S and Carrera 4S. They will feature the newly developed PDK Transmission.
