Stroumpi

Stroumpi is a small village in the heart of Paphos District and exactly in the middle of the distance between Paphos and Polis. The name of the village is said to be coming by its founder, a man called "Stroumpos" or by the view of the mountains around the village (stroumpoula - rounded). The village is well known for the annual "Dionysia" wine festival taking place at the end of August, named after Dionysos the ancient Greek god of wine.. There is also "Dionysos" volley team that is based in Stroumpi and currently plays in Cyprus's first league.Stroumpi is very traditional village and is known for hospitality.
