Araken Demelo (born 1946 in Brazil) is a retired Brazilian footballer.

He played for Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama. He joined Panathinaikos in 1972 as the first Brazilian footballer who ever played for Panathinaikos. He is the first scorer among Brazilians of Panathinaikos. Demelo scored 19 goals in 37 games with Panathinaikos, making with Juan Ramón Verón and Antonis Antoniadis a great attacking line.
