Taperakan ( _hy. Տափերական,also Romanized as Tap’erakan; formerly, Kirov [Kiesling, "Rediscoving Armenia", p. 27, available online at the [http://yerevan.usembassy.gov/armenia.pdf US embassy to Armenia's website] ] ) is a town in the Ararat Province of Armenia. The town was formerly named for Sergey Kirov, an early Bolshevik leader.
