Wolfgang Ellenberger

Wolfgang Ellenberger is one of the many multi-talent medical doctors who are or have been working even in a second extra-medical profession, in his case as concert pianist. Through his work since 1991 with piano master classes for physicians from all over Germany, then since 2002 creating a world-wide platform for extra-medical professions and hobbies of docs he has opened up an important communication structure. This structure is intended to serve as prevention from burnout syndrom for over-stressed docs and also a joyful exchange option. It is fact in health care systems -not only in Germany- that health care professionals are under continuously increasing pressure because of changements in Health care politics, as it is reported about often in official magazines of the German Medical Association as the German Medical Journal (Deutsches Ärzteblatt).

Biographical notes

Wolfgang Ellenberger (*1955 in Munich/Bavaria) is a concert pianist, music therapist and medical doctor from Buchen/Germany. At age 5 he moved to Hamburg where he lived and studied for 25 years. He moved to Würzburg for 10 years where he continued his career as pianist. Between 1986 and 1989 he made private studies of singing in Milano and worked as maestro at the Teatro alla Scala. For private reasons he moved to Buchen in 1996 and lives there since.

Professional activities

Ellenberger has studied for piano diploma/concert exam and human medicine and music therapy in Hamburg, Detmold and Lübeck.After 18 years of free lance activity as concert pianist with a 630 kg Bösendorfer concert grand piano as "hand luggage"he has made a comeback to medicine (due to the general economical crisis) where he works in a psychosomatic hospital since 2007.His inter-disciplinary researches for example about "Music And Movement" with the sports faculty of the University of Magdeburg/Germany have resulted in a conception of a PianoResearchFaculty using the method of the "Relativity Formula of Piano Playing" which had been the essence of piano master classes Ellenberger gave from 1991 to 2000.

Beginning with these piano classes for medical doctors from all over germany he created a unique web portal [http://www.DoctorsTalents.com DoctorsTalents.com] presenting docs (medical doctors, dentists, veterinarians, pharmacists) on a world-wide basis with their extra-medical professions or leisure activities.
