Involvement with the Brownback presidential campaign
In late July 2007, according to the Brownback campaign, Bal joined the Iowa Pastors for Brownback Advisory Council as campus director for student ministries at Des Moines, Iowa.[3][4][5] The Associated Press noted Bal's enthusiasm for Brownback: "People just need to know about him," Bal was quoted as saying.[6][7] The Gazette noted Bal's support for Brownback stemmed from the candidate's unswerving devotion to core beliefs in the face of opposition, something he believed served Brownback well in Washington.[5]
Evangelical ministry
The Great Commission Ministries website's fundraising page states that Bal's ministry provides worldwide missions opportunities.[8]
