Centre of the Universe
The lake gained notoriety in
1980 when it was visited and investigated by Tibetan Buddhist monks who since declared a location overlooking the lake to be theCentre of the Universe . The owner of the property has been approached three times by Tibetan monks wishing to buy the spot, but has chosen to remain and operate a guest lodge, the Vidette Lake Gold Mine Lodge, for people wishing to visit the site, which is unmarked.
