Michael Smith (murderer)

Michael Smith (murderer)

Michael Smith (born 1952) is a British murderer.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2007 after being found guilty of murdering a Stafford man by battering him to death with a champagne bottle. It was then revealed that Smith had been on life licence after being paroled for a previous murder.

On 23 February 2008, The Times revealed that Smith was one of around 50 prisoners who had been issued with a whole life tariff and were unlikely ever to be released. [http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article3440142.ece?token=null&offset=24]
