Karan Mahajan (born April 24, 1984) is a Joseph Henry Jackson Award-winning Indian novelistFact|date=July 2008. Mahajan was born in Stamford, Connecticut, and grew up in New Delhi, IndiaFact|date=July 2008. He studied English and Economics at Stanford UniversityFact|date=July 2008. He currently lives in Fort Greene, BrooklynFact|date=July 2008. He has contributed writing to The Believer, The San Francisco Chronicle, Granta and The New York SunFact|date=July 2008. His first novel, "Family Planning", will be published by HarperCollins in November 2008.
