- Thau claw
The Thau Claw is a
firefighting hand tool that is designed for fire line construction (clearing the ground creating a fire break), hot spotting (raking hot ashes out to ensure the fire doesn't start back up), mop up (pretty much the same thing as hot spotting), trail building (usually for forestfires , so the firefighters can get their gear to the fire), and structure fires. As a firefighter himself, Matt Thau invented the Thau Claw in 2002, when Fire Tool was founded. The Thau Claw can be used for cutting, trenching, scraping, and raking. It meets allUSDA Forest Service specifications that the McLeod fire rake does.External links
