Lyons Township High School , he attendedMacMurray College inJacksonville, Illinois . He was admitted to Rush Medical after just three years of undergraduate work. He completed his last year of undergraduate work and his first year of medical school in a special program designed by Rush Medical College atKnox College inGalesburg, Illinois . He then went on toRush Medical College where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society after completion of his medical studies.Professional career
Sauerberg has been a family practitioner in Chicago's western
suburb s for the last twenty-five years. In 1985, he started his own practice and continues to run it today. His first office, a solo practice, was inWestern Springs, Illinois . Over the next 23 years the practice developed into The Family Medical Center of La Grange which is composed of five family physicians and one physician assistant.Candidacy and Campaign
Sauerberg officially announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination on
August 1 ,2007 at a press conference in Chicago's Federal Plaza. He defeated opponents Andy Martin and Mike Psak in theprimary election onFebruary 5 ,2008 .External links
