Saint-Loup-Géanges is a commune in the Saône-et-Loire "département", in the French region of Bourgogne.

Formerly knowed as Saint-Loup-de-la-Salle, the village was merged with the village of Géanges of January 1, 2003 [ [http://www.insee.fr/fr/nom_def_met/nomenclatures/cog/affichecommune.asp?numdep=71&valcode=443 INSEE Official classification] en icon] ; its name was changed to Saint-Loup-Géanges.

Demographics

As of the census of 1999, the population was formatnum:1128 (Saint-Loup-de-la-Salle: 765, and Géanges: 363).
The estimation for 2005 was formatnum:1380.
