Palatty

The Palatty family is a notable ancient catholic family. The roots of the family tree of the Palatty family points towards the areas of Karutty, Angamaly and Puthenvelikkara part of Ernakulam district in Kerala.

The history of the 'Palatty family' says that, it was originated from an ancient aristocratic Indian family called 'Palay'. The history points to A.D 52 when St. Thomas [http://www.st.thomas.com] apostle of Christ stepped on to the soil of kerala. On his way to Malayattor he took halt at 'PALAY' illam and preached about Christ and his disciples. Inspired by the preachings of St. Thomas the entire family later turned up to Christianity.

Later the members of the family was scattered to different parts due to various internal and external affairs that governed the life of people then. The decendents of that family later came to be called as PALATTY. [Roman Catholic Church] catholics
