Akindele Folu Akinyemi (born November 16, 1974) is a Nigerian American and Republican politician from Detroit, Michigan. He goes by his first name Akindele.

A resident of Detroit, Akinyemi is the founder and CEO of the A-1 Network and Management Company (The One Network). [ [http://www.brotherakindele.com Akindele F. Akinyemi ] ] Mr. Akinyemi attended the Academy of Detroit, a private school run by Mr. Lecester Allen, in 1989.

He is a well known conservative educator in Detroit, Michigan who strongly supports charter schools and tax credits for families. He is a board member of the Detroit chapter of the Black Alliance for Educational Options. He also an advocate for Michigan Charter Schools. He is also a motivational speaker, political consultant, mentor and advisor for various community organizations in Detroit.

In 2008, he declared his candidacy for Congress. He was running against John Conyers for Michigan's 14th congressional district.
