Camp Tockwogh

Camp Tockwogh is located on over 300 acres of land on the Eastern shore of Maryland. The property is located on the Cheasapeake Bay. The property was purchased in 1938 by the YMCA of Delaware and the camp operates as a branch of that organization to this day.

The camp originally was only for boys. In 1961, the YMCA invited the Wilmington Young Women's Christian Association to co-sponsor a girls' camp at Tockwogh. In 1963 girls the camp was open to girls.

The camp has many water sports including sailing, water skiing, and swimming as well as horseback riding, archery, photography and many other activities.

The camp hosts over 2000 campers during its summer program. It also has a conference center on site and operates year round for groups.

In 2005 lightning struck two campers. One camper was revived using an automatic defibrillator by camp staff. [http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/20/AR2005072002247_pf.html]
