- Stephen Haddrill
Stephen Haddrill is the Director General of The ABI, (Association of British Insurers).
He took up this position on
3 May 2005 .Prior to this he was Director General, Fair Markets Group at the
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).From 1998 until early 2002, he had other roles in the DTI, including Director of Employment Relations, and Consumer Affairs. From 1994 to 1998 he was a director of the DTI’s Competitiveness Unit.
From 1990 to 1994 he worked in
Hong Kong as a member of the Governor’s Central Policy Unit.Educated at
Trinity School of John Whitgift from1967 -1974 , he then studiedhistory andeconomics atOxford University and joined theDepartment of Energy in 1978.External links
