Sheehan was a member of the Kerry squad for the
All-Ireland Minor Football Championship from 2001 to 2003, winning theMunster Minor Football Championship on all 3 occasions. His first National Football League game with Kerry seniors came in 2005, and in the same year he made hisAll-Ireland Senior Football Championship debut againstCork GAA in theMunster Senior Football Championship . Sheehan has 3 All-Ireland senior medals (2004, 2006, 2007). He is noted as a skilful forward and a fine long-range freetaker.References
