Sledger

Sledger is a fictional character in the Marvel comic "The Adventures of The Infamous S.L.E.D.G.E.M.A.N.". He was a prominent figure in the rise of graphic novels in the early-to-mid '90s. In the final comic of "The Adventures of The Infamous S.L.E.D.G.E.M.A.N." published in 1997, Sledger is killed after an epic battle between Voltman, although many have speculated to his return due to the comic's seemingly mis-printed date, 08/05/2008.Fact|date=April 2008 Many cite this as the date Sledger shall be resurrected, although despite the fact Marvel have announced no plans to reboot the "The Adventures of The Infamous S.L.E.D.G.E.M.A.N." series. Warner Bros. Film Studio recently patented the copyright for the term "Sledger", leading to speculation a Sledger film is planned.Fact|date=April 2008

As of April 17th 2008, various cryptic promotional images revealing "080505-SLEDGER" have appeared online in the form of a viral campaign.Fact|date=April 2008 These images have been rumoured to be for the impending return of Sledger on the 8th of May 2008.
