Oasis Musical (1986)
Grupo Oasis's self-titled debut album, “Oasis Musical”, was released in 1986 on the independent Lujo Record label. Unlike their later recordings, the debut release is a Rock en Espanol and Latin Pop album. It is the only album to include singer Sonia Perez, guitar player Andres Tovar, and bass player Juan Zaragoza among their personnel.

Grupo Oasis’s second album, “Llego Para Quedarse”, was released in 1988 on the Freddie Records label in Corpus Christi, Texas. This was the band’s first of two Tejano LP’s and featured “El Sapo”, and “Donde Estas” which gained public acclaim, and their first recording contract. “El sapo” turned out to be a huge hit and the catalyst for cumbias to be accepted among Tex-Mex fans and has consequently been covered by various Tejano and Latin bands throughout the Americas. Oasis was the first grupo to add this style Cumbia to the Tejano market.

Unlike their previous recordings, Grupo Oasis’s fourth album, “En Mi Corazon”, is one of two Mexican grupero style recordings and was released in 1992 on the Mar Internacional Record label. This was their first recording distributed internationally and took the band back to their roots. They toured internationally for three years.
