* "Ely" (DE-309) was launched 10 April 1944 by Mare Island Navy Yard; sponsored by Mrs. Ann G. Ely, widow of Lieutenant Ely; and never completed. Her construction was canceled 5 September 1944.

*On 15 February 1956 PCE-880 was assigned the name Ely.
