Bill Trinen

Bill Trinen is a video game translator who mainly works for Nintendo of America. He also does certain Nintendo press conferences and acts as an interpreter. Bill Trinen has been involved in the translation of many Nintendo 64, GameCube, and Game Boy titles. He describes one of the things he must do as part of his job, "We also help explain to people at Nintendo what the cool new features of the games are and points to focus on in PR and marketing and things like that." Trinen began studying Japanese while in high school, continuing it through college. He also studied a year overseas in Tokyo, Japan, and lived in Shibuya.
