Revolutionary Socialist Party (Peru)

Revolutionary Socialist Party (in Spanish: "Partido Socialista Revolucionario"), a political party in Peru formed in 1976. Its founders included several people from the Velasco Alvarado government, such as general Leonidas Rodríguez Figueroa, general Jorge Fernández Maldonado, Enrique Bernales and Alfredo Filomeno.

In 1978, a radical and pro-armed struggle group split from PSR, and formed the PSR(m-l).

During the 1980s PSR was part of IU. In 1989 PSR participated in the elections of the lists of ASI and in 1990 with IS.

The party is currently led by Víctor Oliva Miguel.

PSR publishes "El Socialista".
