imdb_id = 0059721"Sink Pink" is the fifth cartoon produced in the "
Pink Panther " series. A total of 124 6-minute cartoons were produced between 1964 and 1980.Plot
A hunter from Texas decides to build an ark—according to him that would be like "shooting fish in a barrel" and would facilitate his hunt—and manages to fill it with specimens of every animal except one that keeps eluding him: a pink panther. To complete his collection, the Texan attempts to capture the panther by whatever means possible. Naturally, the sly feline leads bricks-for-brains hunter through the jungle, thwarting any attempts to finally capture the elusive panther. [Beck, Jerry. The panther speaks
"Sink Pink" is one of two "Pink Panther" cartoon shorts in which the feline is given dialogue. The panther closes the film by saying "Why can't man be more like animals?" The panther would be given more extensive dialogue in "
Pink Ice " before remaining mute for the run of the series. The voice was supplied by impressionist
Rich Little impersonating English actorDavid Niven . Niven's sophisticated vocal style was chosen for the Pink Panther, as he portrayed diamond thief Sir Charles Lytton (a.k.a. the Phantom) in the original "Pink Panther" film withPeter Sellers .
