Electrica is a Romanian state-owned company, its shares being held by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce which has as main objective power generation and distribution.

* Electrica North Transylvania that serves 6 counties:
** Bihor, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Cluj, Maramures, Satu Mare and Salaj
* Electrica South Transylvania that serves 6 counties:
** Alba, Braşov, Covasna, Harghita, Mureş and Sibiu
* Electrica North Muntenia that serves 6 counties:
** Brăila, Buzău, Dâmboviţa, Galaţi, Prahova and Vrancea
