Sztywny Pal Azji

Sztywny Pal Azji

Sztywny Pal Azji is a Polish rock band, popular in late 1980s and early 1990s. It was founded in 1986 in Chrzanów by Jarosław Kisiński, a guitarist and author of band's hits. Sztywny Pal Azji performed during the 1986 Jarocin Festival, gaining popularity with its mix of punk rock, reggae and pop. It also played in Jarocin in 1987, 1988 and 1989, and its debut album "Europa i Azja" ("Europe and Asia"), published in 1987, was very popular, with two songs "Spotkanie z..." and "Wieża radości, wieża samotności" becoming hits of the acclaimed list of Marek Niedźwiedzki's list, played on the Third Program of Polish Radio.

In 1989 another album "Szukam nowego siebie" ("I am looking for a new myself") was recorded, with such hits as "Smutna środa" and "Nie zmienię świata". However, in the course of time, band's popularity was diminishing and finally it was dissolved. Sztywny Pal Azji returned in the summer of 2007.
