It joins the Olt River downstream of the village of Măieruş.This river should not be confused with the Hotaru River (flowing into the Olt River approximatively 17 miles upstream, near the village of Colonia Reconstrucţia), nor with the Hotaru River (flowing into the Olt River approximately 10 miles upstream, near the Vadu Roşu railway station), both having an identical name.
