|The University of East London Black Bulls are a
London -basedGaelic Athletic Association club on the east side of London town,England . The club was founded in2007 and is primarily concerned with the game ofGaelic football .History
The UEL Black Bulls were founded in the harsh winter of
2007 following a meeting with the Universities' Sports and Social club. A Gaelic Football club fit to represent the esteemed university had not previously existed. Within a month, the new club had made their mark defeating the University ofWorcester on an incredibly warm day up inOxford . Unfortunately, the hosts had inflicted the fledgling clubs' first defeat just hours earlier.Since then, 'The Black Bulls' have become synonymous with Gaelic Football on the east end of London. Their nickname derives from a local Irish-owned hostelry in the
Stratford area of London bearing the same name who have provided generous sponsorship for the club since its inception. The installation of a new cigarette machine on the 19th of December was seen by many as a pivotal moment in the relationship between club and sponsor. The club have played four matches since that famous day in Oxford, defeating Cambridge twice while being on the wrong end of the scoreline in the rematch with Oxford, as well as against St Mary's Strawberry Hill.
The team face their greatest test on the weekend of February 23rd/24th when they travel to Birmingham to face the might of the University of Bedford, Manchester Met / Salford, Imperial College London and the University of Worcester in the Plate section of the
British University Gaelic Football Championship . These games will be played in Wythall, just outside Birmingham on Saturday February 23rd.Football
