Alexander Wylie, Lord Kinclaven

Alexander "Sandy" Wylie, The Hon Lord Kinclaven, is a Senator of the College of Justice, a judge in Scotland's highest courts, the High Court of Justiciary, and the Court of Session. He was appointed in 2005. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh, and was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1978. He served as an Advocate Depute from 1989 to 1992, and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1991. He was admitted to the English Bar in 1990, and is a member of Lincoln's Inn. He has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators since 1991. He was a part time Sheriff in Scotland from 2000 to 2005. He was a member of the Scottish Legal Aid Board (latterly as Depute Chairman) from 1994 to 2002. He was a member of the Scottish Council of Law Reporting from 2000 to 2005 (latterly as Vice Chairman). He served as a member of the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission from 2004 to 2005. He is married to Gail and has two daughters Claire and Nicola.
