- 2007 Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form
Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Formis an award given annually by members of the World Science Fiction Convention. Any dramatic production of a running time of less than ninety minutes (without commercials, if applicable) that aired in the previous year was eligible for the award, which recognizes the best science fiction or fantasy works. The nominees included four "Doctor Who" episodes written by Steven Moffat, Russell T Daviesand Toby Whithouse. The other nominees were Bradley Thompson and David Weddle's "Downloaded", from the series " Battlestar Galactica", and Brad Wrightand company's "200", the 200th episode of " Stargate SG-1".
After voting, the winners were announced at WorldCon, an annual convention produced by the
World Science Fiction Society. The 2007 WorldCon took place in Japanfrom August 30to September 3. ...It's for "Doctor Who". Cos [sic] years ago, when I was a tiny little "Doctor Who" fan, I bought this American magazine called "
Starlog" [...] but the reason I bought it was in a tiny box in the corner it said "Doctor Who"! And I was so excited that this big important American magazine had an article about my favourite show! And it broke my heart. Because in the article it said "In all fairness "Doctor Who" is unlikely ever to win a Hugo ... And I'd say more, but I'm off to the "Starlog" offices to dance around and flick v-signs."
