Thomas D. Colvin

Education: University of Nebraska – 1970 Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering Value Engineering Certification (SAVE) – 1983LEEDTM Accredited - 2004

Mr. Colvin has over 30 years of design experience in mechanical systems for many building types. His continuing self-education program has specialized in engineering economics and value engineering. He also has taught M.E. 565, Thermal Environmental Engineering, at the University of Utah College of Engineering and has been a lecturer at Evaporative Cooling seminars at the Pacific Energy Center in San Francisco .

Mr. Colvin has served as Principal or Project Manager for hundreds of projects including hospitals, clean rooms, laboratories, several large manufacturing facilities, airport concourses, hotels, high-rise office buildings, schools, post offices, shopping malls, auditorium/theaters, and department stores.

He was recognized as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Utah Chapter Engineer of Year in 1993. He also received the ASHRAE Technology Award in 1995 for the innovative, energy conserving design of the One Utah Center (Commercial Buildings-New Category).
