Athina Krikeli

Athina Krikeli (Greek: Αθηνά Κρικέλη) is a Greek journalist. Born in Thessaloniki, she studied jornalism in London for three years and has an MA in Mass Media from a university in New York.

She is founder and CEO of the Ellopia Media Group. She has been awarded 3 times by the president of Greece and in 1997, she received an award from then-mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani, for helping to shape the culture of that city. In 2001, she won an award for her documentary "On the Move", as well as Best Documentary Award for "The Enclaved", a report on Northern Cyprus. It was given to her by Constantinos Stefanopoulos. In 1997, she was awarded by former Mayor of New York Rudolph Giuliani for her contribution to New York culture. She is the only Greek woman who votes for the Emmys and the New York festivals. She is a correspondent for the Voice of America in New York, and a political correspondent for ERT 3, the national television of northern Greece. Her radio show “Ta Dika Mas” is the only Greek program showcased on a permanent exhibition at the Museum of Television and Radio. She is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and the United Nations Correspondent Association.

She lives and works in New York.
