Hot Adult Contemporary music formattedradio station based in Gulfport–Biloxi-Pascagoula,Mississippi . The station is owned byClear Channel , and they broadcast with a ERP of 100 kW.History
The station has it orgions as WQID-FM which located to the 93.7 dail position in the 1970s. During the height of the 1980s Top 40 radio, QID rode to the top of the radio waves. The stations sound and processing brought it comparisons to stations in major markets. As Top 40 began to disengrate in the early 1990s, the station began to lose appeal. The station was acquried via a Lease Management Agreement by the owners of WKNN-FM. In April, 1994 the station flipped formats at 12:00 noon to the Magic 93.7 branding with a soft rock format.
In this decade more tweaks have come to the format with the growing amount of gold/recurrent music available and the re-introduction of these songs by adult/variety hits formats. Magic's branding has become, "The best variety", though they seem to keep one foot in their soft rock focused past. Much more upbeat music has been added including disco and 1980s chart toppers.
