- Scott Drevitch
Scott Drevitch (born in
Brookline, Massachusetts on 9 September, 1965) is a retired American professionalice hockey defenseman.Following a collegiate career with the
University of Maine Black Bears and theUniversity of Lowell Riverhawks, Drevitch was signed by theBoston Bruins of theNational Hockey League as a free agent in 1988, and assigned to the Bruins'American Hockey League affiliateMaine Mariners . He played a full season for the Mariners, showing offensive flair he would enjoy throughout his playing days, but defensive deficiencies had him sent down to theEast Coast Hockey League the following season, and he spent most of his career in the mid- to low-minor leagues. Most notably, he spent five seasons with theTacoma Sabercats of theWest Coast Hockey League , and was the career leader in games played, assists and scoring for the franchise; he also played three seasons for theAdirondack Frostbite of theUnited Hockey League , as well as playing for a number of teams in the AHL, the IHL, UHL, ECHL, and WCHL. He also played inSweden ,Austria , andHolland , as well as playing five seasons inRoller Hockey International .Drevitch's final season was in 2007 with the
Elmira Jackals of the UHL; at the time of his retirement, he was the final player for theAlbany Choppers ,New Haven Nighthawks andMaine Mariners franchises active in pro hockey.He currently runs a series of hockey camps in upstate New York and Cape Cod [http://www.play-pro.com/] and is a coach for the
