Gary Langan (born
May 11 ,1955 ) is anaudio engineer andrecord producer .Biography
In 1983, Langan co-founded the
ZTT Records label withTrevor Horn ,Paul Morley andJill Sinclair . He was also a founding member of the musical groupArt of Noise , but departed in 1986 after touring in support of the group's "In Visible Silence" album.His career started at age 18 when he worked as an assistant engineer at
Sarm Studios (East), learning the craft fromGary Lyons and Mike Stone, whom he assisted on the Queen albums "A Night at the Opera", "A Day At The Races", and "News of the World". After engineering for Horn, Langan would produce "Beauty Stab " for ABC and, later, "Through The Barricades" forSpandau Ballet .2005 saw Langan creating the
SACD mix for the re-issue of "Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds ".In 2008, Langan produced the ABC album "Traffic".
Langan is currently working with Palladium to support their 2008 February tour for their debut album. He is also working with The Producers mixing and engineering the debut Album for release in the summer of 2008.
In May 2008, Gary fell down a stair case, resulting in a major break of the left ankle, and splitting his head open, fortunately despite this setback, he is in a good condition and a full recovery is expected.
