The Type 93 Surface-to-Air Missile ( _ja. 93式近距離地対空誘導弾) is a surface to air missile used by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces.

History

It was first deployed in 1993. It is the vehicle bourne version of the Type 91 missile. It appears to be very similar to the American FIM-92 Stinger missile. It is typically deployed on a modified launcher "Koukidousha" (military version Toyota Mega Cruiser) with a total of 8 missiles ready to fire.
