Fluy is a commune in the Somme "département" in the Picardie region of France.

Geography

Situated on a plateau, at the junction of the D182 and D95 roads, some 7 miles southwest of Amiens.

History

The placename is recorded in 1066 under the name "Floy", in 1638 as "Flenuy" and in 1657 as the variant "Fleuny" . [Abbé Charlier et L. Ledieu - « "Dictionnaire historique et archéologique de la Picardie" », Tome II, Canton de Molliens-Vidame, page 337 (1912, reprint "Editions Culture et Civilisation", Bruxelles, 1979)] .
