21 October 1945 , Santa Ana,California ) was an Americanteen pop star.Young rose to stardom in 1960 at the age of 15, after hearing The Innocents performing on
Wink Martindale 's TV show.Jim Lee , arecord producer atIndigo Records , had The Innocents record with Young, doing acover version ofThe Rivileers ' 1954 hit, "A Thousand Stars". Thesong became a hit in the U.S., peaking at #6 on the Black Singles chart, and #3 on theBillboard Hot 100 .
