List of Hawaiian royal consorts

The Kingdom of Hawaiokinai was founded by Kamehameha I in 1795 after conquering the Hawaiian archipelago. His dynasty lasted until Liliokinauokalani was deposed by a pro-United States revolution in 1893. Kamehameha the Great had numerous wives, believed to be over 21 wives, but Kaahumanu was his most favorite wife. Wives of Kamehameha not mentioned on this list are Queen Keopuolani, his highest ranking wife; Queen Kalakua Kaheiheimaile, sister of Kaahumanu and mother of Kinau and Kamamalu; Queen Miriam Auhea Kekauluohi, step-daughter of Kamehameha, and many others. His son Kamehameha II had five wives: Queen Kamamalu, Queen Kekauluohi, Queen Pauahi, Queen Kinau, and Queen Kekauonohi. Kamehameha III was the first king of Hawaii to not practice polygamy. Queen Emma Naokinaea was the first and only hapa haole queen consort and probably is the most well known Hawaiian queen today next to Liliuokalani. John Owen Dominis, a full blood American, was Hawaii's only prince consort by the virtue of his marriage to Liliuokalani. Everyone of these consorts except Prince John outlived their spouse.
