Simmons Elementary School and Limekiln-Simmons Elementary School serve approximately 950 students inkindergarten through grade 5. It's kindergarten students attend Limekiln-Simmons, located at 1125 Limekiln Pike. Students in grades 1 through 5 attend Simmons Elementary at 411 Babylon Road, adjacent to theHatboro-Horsham High School . Simmons Elementary School and Limekiln-Simmons Elementary School are supported by an active Home and School Association. The HSA plans a variety of family activities throughout the school year.History
Simmons Elementary was named after Dorothea Hughes Simmons, who donated the site of the current Limekiln-Simmons School on Limekiln Pike to the township. Mrs. Simmons’ life was spent in social welfare, which involved her in projects ranging from musical scholarships in
Poland to aiding the American Farm School inGreece . Limekiln-Simmons was first opened as Simmons Elementary School in1932 , with only four rooms. In1954 , offices and additional classrooms were added. In September of1992 Simmons was relocated to its current address on Babylon Road. In September 1999 the original Simmons building was reopened for the kindergarten students, the CARE Program, and the Hatboro-Horsham Special Services Department and was renamed Limekiln-Simmons.Timeline
