Crawford Architects is an international full-service architectural practice with offices in Sydney, Australia and Kansas City, Missouri. Crawford was founded in 1976 in Sydney and opened its office in Kansas City in 2001. The firm specializes in creating projects from scratch and integrating mixed use development with sports facilities and the planning and design of complex urban projects encompassing convention center, entertainment, hospitality, retail and commercial office facilities. Adverse environmental conditions, prevalent in Australia in recent years, have created a challenge for managing natural resources. As a result, Crawford Architects applies sustainable design principles and utilizes LEED initiatives as this becomes increasingly important to clients. Currently, the firm is designing the Purcell Pavilion addition to the Joyce Center Arena at the University of Notre Dame to achieve credits necessary to become LEED certified.
