Pakistan now lives inHong Kong where at the age of 22, she decided to reconnect with her Pakistani roots while at the same time, enter the world of international beauty pageants.Bushra Jamil competed alongside 15 other finalists in 2007 for the title of
Miss Pakistan World . Although she did not win the crown and came up as 4th runner up, it was enough to take Jamil to two international pageants to representPakistan . Throughout the next several months, Jamil competed in World Miss University 2007 inKorea and Miss Tourism 2007 inMalaysia .Awards and Achievments
Jamil came in 3rd place, behind
Miss Venezuela and MissLithuania in the World Miss University pageant Popularity Contest. With over 6 million votes, the top three finalists had a very close race. The presence ofPakistan in an international pageant has slowly become a much more regular occurrence. Miss Pakistan World has sent representation to dozens of international pageants and has brought home 7 titles to date. Jamil is proud to have been a part of that movement.Perhaps her strongest acclamation was the award of Peace Ambassador by officials in
Korea during her time there for World Miss University. She has shown great stride for a new type of Pakistan; one of peace and liberation.During her stay in Malaysia for Miss Tourism 2007, she was often asked about the current state of Pakistan, to which she answered, "I am here for peace, not politics".
