Federal Communications Commission onNovember 1 ,1992 .WQQQ went on the air in September of 1996. Area radio personallity Marshall Miles was the station manager and did the Marshall in the Morning Show from 6am to 9 am. After that the station simulcast WREF 850 AM from Danbury, CT. In the evening the station ran the Beethoven Network.
In 1997 the radio station automated after the Marshall in the Morning Show playing 70s and 80s music.
In 1999 Ron Lyon took over as General Manager and Bob Chatfield took over what was re-named The Q-Morning Show. Still the station was automated by local programming but now featured Adult Contemporary hits along with the hits of the 70s & 80s.
Joe Loverro joined the station in 2000 and eventually replaced Ron Lyon as Station Manager. When Bob Chatfield left in 2002, Joe Loverro took over the Q-Morning Show.
