Vetala Bhatta

Vetala Bhatta was a Maga Brahmin. He was one of Gem in Navratnas during the reign of Vikramaditya. [ [http://www.mypurohith.com/Encyclopedia/EnclopN1.asp E N C Y C L O P E D I A ] ]

Navaratnas (Sanskrit dvigu "nava-ratna-" "nine gems") was a term applied to a group of nine extraordinary people in a king's court in India.

He is known to have attributed the work of the sixteen stanza "Niti-pradeepa" [ [http://sanskritdocuments.org/doc_trial/sanskritworkstemp1.html Sanskrit Works and Authors ] ] (Niti-pradīpa, literally, the lamp of conduct) to Vikramaditya.
