The band comprises Gavin Miller and Tom Ragsadle, who met whilst both attending
Leeds College of Music in 2005. worriedaboutsatan began as a side project for Miller, but later became the joint focus of Miller and Ragsdale after their other band, Johnny Poindexter, split up.The band's mixture of rock and electronic genres can be attributed to Miller and Ragsdale's musical influences, which give equal importance to
post-rock bands such asExplosions in the Sky andMogwai as well aselectronic dance music artists, such as Underworld andTrentemøller . worriedaboutsatan's sound, in reflection of their musical tastes, is in their own words, an attempt 'to fuse elements of everything we listen to - glitch, techno, electronica, rock [and] metal'. [http://www.subba-cultcha.com/article_feature.php?id=5323] worriedaboutsatan also employ the use of samples from a wide variety of sources, such as a speech given byPatricia Hearst (as featured in the "EP1" track, 'Patty Hearst') and a spoken performance of aSiegfried Sassoon poem, sampled in a new track called 'Evil Dogs'.worriedaboutsatan's music has appeared on several BBC Radio shows, including
Steve Lamacq 's show on 6Music and Tom Robinsons' "Introducing" [http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/tom_robinsons_introducing/tracklisting_20071209.shtml] and Mary Anne Hobb's "Experimental Show", both on Radio 1. The band use a desktop PC to run the electronic elements, whilst the two members either play guitars or control the PC via a
MIDI controller . Earlier shows found the band performing on the floor directly in front of the audience, giving Ragsdale the ability to walk out into the crowd whilst playing guitar [ [http://www.bbc.co.uk/leeds/content/articles/2007/06/25/music_gig_review_worriedaboutsatan_feature.shtml] . However, recent performances have seen the role of guitarist given solely to Miller, whilst Ragsdale takes control of the PC and electronic elements [ [http://www.contactmusic.com/new/home.nsf/webpages/castsx01x02x08] ] .Amongst the many bands that worriedaboutsatan have performed with include

The band's name, worriedaboutsatan, is taken from a song of the same name by Belgian rock band dEUS. It was a B-side to their 1996 single 'Theme From Turnpike' [ [http://www.hotellounge.com/disco/single_turnpike.htm [wwwcs3 theme from turnpike ] ]
According to the band themselves, the names of five different people were inserted into each track on 'EP02' but are barely audible.
The band's previous desktop computer was named 'Robert Dell', although Robert was recently retired to home use.
The song 'Morwenna' is named after a friend of Gavin's after he forgot her birthday in 2006.
