She was born as as Jacqueline Netter to a bourgeois family at Rouen in 1919. She arrived in Algeria in 1948 as the wife of Pierre Minne, a professor of Philosophy [cite book |url=http://books.google.com/books?id=4ZhnmK7ThvcC&pg=PA146&lpg=PA146&dq=%22jacqueline+guerroudj%22&source=web&ots=EwvhnXCswQ&sig=OQH05vFkzUzusppE7SfktkqiJMs|title=Des Françaises d'Algérie dans la Guerre de libération: des oubliées de la guerre de libération|date=1995|isbn=2865375749|author=Andrée Dore-Audibert] .

Remarried in 1950 to Abdelkader Guerroudj (nicknamed "Djilali"), an activist in the FLN, she is known to history as Jacqueline Guerroudj.
