London Buses route 231 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, United Kingdom. The service is currently contracted to First London.

History

This route began in 1954, running from Alexander Park to Forty Hill. It was withdrawn between Turnpike Lane Station and Alexandra Park and replaced by route W2 in 1968.

Extended from Forty Hill to Brimsdown Station and to Enfield Garage (on garage journeys) in 1980 this section was withdrawn and replaced by route 191 in 1985.

Withdrawn between Enfield Town and Carterhatch and diverted to Enfield Chase in 1998.

Route 231's operation was transferred to First London in June 2008.
