Evolve 4.0

Evolve 4.0

Evolve 4.0 is an open source, freeware Artificial life simulator by Ken Stauffer. In its simulated 2D cellular automata, each cell represents a possible cell in a larger Digital organisms, which can grow, move, eat, reproduce, and eventually evolve over time.

Each cell executes a custom language called KFORTH (portmanteau of "Ken's Forth"), based on the Forth programming language.

Stauffer is using his Evolve environment in his "One Year of ALife", with the goal of running a simulation for an entire year.
