Hem Chander Vikramaditya

Hem Chander Vikramaditya or Hemu or Hemu Vikramaditya was the only
Hindu Emperor to rule from Delhi during Mediavel period. He had his coronation at Purana Qila in Delhi on 6th October 1556 where he was bestowed the title of "Samrat Hem Chander Vikramaditya".

He held many positions in the governments of Sher Shah Suri, his son Islam Shah Suri and Adil Shah Suri of Afghan Sur Dynasty during 1535-56. Slowly he became powerful by winning support from all the Afgan and Rajput warriors. He became Prime Minister cum Chief of Army of Adil Shah during Oct.1553-56 and fought and won 22 battles to quell rebellion spanning entire North India from Punjab to Bengal and Malwa region in Central India.
