laterwork=General Frederick Ralph Sharp CMM, DFC, CD (1915-1992) was a former Chief of Defence Staff for theCanadian Forces .Sharp was born in
Moosomin, Saskatchewan and attended theRoyal Military College in the 1930s. He graduated from RMC and joined theRCAF in 1938. He started as pilot and later as a flying instructor for theBCATP duringWorld War II . He was a squadron commander at the close of the war.After the war, Sharp served with the Air Force HQ and Central Flying School in Trenton.
Sharp further his education by completing his Masters in Business Administration at the
University of Western Ontario and as an exchange officer post of Directing Staff of the RAC Staff College in Britain.In 1959 he became the commander of the RCAF Training Command and various posting with
NORAD . Sharp was promoted toAir Marshal in the RCAF. General and became theChief of Defence Staff of theCanadian Armed Forces . He retired in 1972 and became a partner in a consulting firm until 1979.He was married to Betty Sharp and had a son and daughter.
Sharp died in 1992.
