"Lissotesta ambigua" is a species of very small sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Cyclostrematidae.

Distribution

This species is endemic to New Zealand, found around the Chatham Islands and the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand.

Habitat

This snail is found at depths of between 220 and 640 m.

hell description

The shell is large for the genus, tall-, fragile, white, with a moderate umbilicus. The only sculpture consists of irregular obscure spiral grooves and axial growth lines.

The shell height is up to 2.4 mm, and the width is 1.9 mm.
